Booking terms
The simple rules for booking a restring with us, including your cancellation rights.
Last updated: 13 October 2026
1. About us
Tension Masters is a trading name of Isaac Bunn, a sole trader.
Address: 5 Egginton Road, Hilton, Derby DE65
Email: bunnisz13@gmail.com · Phone: 07359 265035
These terms apply when you book a racket restring with us. Please read them before you book. If you have any questions, just ask.
2. How booking works
- You send a booking request through our website, or by phone, email or message.
- We reply to confirm the price and agree a drop-off time. Our contract with you starts when we confirm your booking.
- You drop your racket off at Etwall Leisure Centre or 5 Egginton Road, and collect it from the same place when it’s ready.
Sending a request doesn’t commit you to anything until we’ve confirmed it.
3. Prices and payment
- Prices shown on the website are the full price per racket, including string and labour. No VAT or other charges are added on top.
- Drop-off and collection are free. 2-knot stringing is free. 4-knot (two-piece) stringing costs the extra amount shown when you book, and is needed for two-tone colours and hybrid strings.
- If you supply your own strings, we’ll agree the labour price with you before we start.
- The price we confirm with you is the price you pay. You pay when you collect, using the method we agree when we confirm your booking. We don’t take payment online.
- If we’ve made an obvious mistake with a price, we’ll tell you before we start work, and you can cancel without paying anything.
- Sale prices apply to bookings confirmed while the sale is running.
4. Your racket
- We check every racket before we string it. If we see cracks or other damage, we’ll contact you before going ahead.
- We string to the tension you ask for, within the racket manufacturer’s recommended range. If you ask for a tension above the maximum, we’ll warn you and only go ahead if you confirm.
- Strings wear out and can break in normal play, especially thin strings and high tensions. A string breaking during play isn’t a fault in our work unless it’s caused by poor workmanship.
- Please take any grips, covers or accessories you don’t need off the racket before you drop it off.
5. Our responsibility to you
- We’ll carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. If we don’t, tell us and we’ll restring the racket again for free. If that isn’t possible, or doesn’t fix the problem, we’ll give you a full or partial refund.
- We look after your racket while we have it. If it’s lost or damaged because we failed to take reasonable care, we’ll make it right.
- We aren’t responsible for damage caused by a defect in the racket that we couldn’t reasonably have spotted when we checked it. We also aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. For more about your rights, contact Citizens Advice.
6. Changing or cancelling your booking
You can cancel any time before we start stringing your racket, and you won’t pay anything.
Because you book with us at a distance (online, by phone or by message), the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 also give you a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the day we confirm your booking, without giving a reason. If you ask us to start the work within those 14 days:
- if you cancel after we’ve started but before we’ve finished, you’ll pay a fair share of the price for the work done so far;
- once the restring is finished, you can no longer cancel under this right. Your rights under section 5 still apply.
To cancel, contact us by email at bunnisz13@gmail.com, by phone or by message, saying clearly that you want to cancel. You can use the form below, but you don’t have to. If you’ve already paid anything, we’ll refund it within 14 days of you telling us you’re cancelling.

7. Collecting your racket
We’ll let you know when your racket is ready. Please collect it within 4 weeks. If it hasn’t been collected 3 months after we told you it was ready, we’ll write to you using the contact details you gave us, giving at least 4 weeks’ notice. If it’s still not collected after that, we may sell or dispose of it, as the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 allows. If we sell it, we’ll keep the amount you owe us and hold the rest for you.
8. Problems and complaints
If you’re not happy, please contact us as soon as you can at bunnisz13@gmail.com or 07359 265035. We aim to reply within 7 days and to put things right quickly.
